Notfallseelsorge: Seelsorge am Karsamstag

Andreas Müller-Cyran

Holy Trinity as the Deepest Justification of Christian Mission To Serve or "To Be for the Others"

Peter Hermanovský, Kateřina Brichcínová

Caritas et veritas 2012, 2(1):19-26 | DOI: 10.32725/cetv.2012.004

The present article clarifies the importance of the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity for Christian life. The paper works on the assumption that the ontological principle of the Triune God is love. The authors abandon the metaphysical categories and think of God from the biblical point of view of salvation history, in the course of which we can experience the love of God. Love implies being in relationship, in which the person who loves empties herself in order to give herself to the loved one. Nevertheless she doesn't lose herself, on the contrary, in self-giving she realizes herself. Thus love unites without denying personal identity, which it consolidates...

Suffering As a Way to Knowing God: On the Interpretation of the Book of Job

Adam Mackerle

Caritas et veritas 2012, 2(1):27-38 | DOI: 10.32725/cetv.2012.005

The present study is focused on the book of Job as a whole. It is concerned with the reasoning of all the actors of the drama and with the way, how they perceive the main problems of the book: the suffering, God's justice, the sense of the whole creation and of the human life in it. The article points out the complexity of the reasoning both of Job and of his friends and its nuances. At the same time, it helps to understand the God's answer to Job. All three worldviews, present in the text (i.e. Job's, his friends' and God's) are complex ways, how to perceive and understand the world and the human life. Both "human" positions, that of Job and that...

Insight into the History of the Czech Army Chaplain Service - Recent Past And the Situation around the Year 1900

Tomáš Veber

Caritas et veritas 2012, 2(1):39-45 | DOI: 10.32725/cetv.2012.006

The article shows a piece of historical and contemporary "life story" of the military spiritual duty in Czech countries, focused on the 1900's. The text talks about this (till now ignored) theme briefly, but it is the first article after the long ("white places making") era in the Czech historical context.
