New Directory for Catechesis. Another challenge for educators of the faith at all levels

In 2020, a new Directory for Catechesis was published, which includes changes both in the theory of catechesis and especially in catechesis, taking into account the changes in contemporary society. This article presents this document, addressed primarily to bishops and other persons responsible for to bishops responsible for catechesis in the dioceses of the Czech and Moravian ecclesiastical provinces. It uses a method of critical analysis, leading to the conclusion that the document demonstrates some efforts to incorporate the current papal magisterium into the catechesis of the Church. This represents a great challenge to a radical renewal of catechesis, whose current practice in our country does not sufficiently respond to the needs of evangelization in a secularized society.
